Many people have been instrumental in developing the Internet from the lowest levels of technology to the highest levels of conceptualization. Here are few names of import.

  • [Vint Cerf] is most often called the Father of the Interet (not Al Gore).
  • [Robert Kahn] was integral along with Vint Cerf as the designer of the TCP/IP protocols.
  • [Tim O'Reilly] can be credited with evangelizing the Internet early on.
  • [Richard Stallman] asserted the GNU project of which so much free software is licensed.
